3 WORKWEAR STYLES TO TRY NOW

3 WORKWEAR STYLES TO TRY NOW

Last week I asked on instagram what you would like to see from ‘one-set’ & the most requested suggestion was workwear! So, today’s post is dedicated to just that, three styles to try for your summer workwear wardrobe. Now although I no longer work in an office; I remember how hard I found it to dress to work in the summer months. There’s just something about summer clothes which makes them feel a bit more casual, harder to style & there’s much less in the shops that feels work place appropriate. I’ve had a good long look in the shops and thought I would break it down to three easy to wear styles to try that are not only suitable for the office but that you could definitely dress down too. Doubly whammy!

1)THE WAISTCOAT
Essentially a sleeveless blazer, this is a great way to work tailoring when the temperature soars. You get the same look as a blazer but you won’t die of heat! Top tip – go for styles with sharper shoulders, these will feel smarter and more sophisticated than the slouchy shapes.

2)THE PRINTED DRESS
Summer dresses are everywhere and they’re far more colourful & playful than winter’s sea of black & navy, so why not give it a go for the office? Be sure to steer clear of palm prints & tropical designs but lightweight leopard or snake is the perfect way to do it. Other muted prints or block colour will work too just keep the shape looking sleek, no cut outs, spaghetti straps or boob tubes in sight, think more flowing shapes, simple shirt dresses or loose, linen styles. Length wise midi always looks the part just make sure the fabric is lightweight.

3)THE OFFICE APPROPRIATE JUMPSUIT
Jumpsuits are everywhere & for good reason, they are extrememly versatile. Whilst the sheer & strappy styles can be saved for the beach, a tailored cut with a nipped in or belted waist and a cropped leg are great to wear to the office. Add a heel to keep things look as chic as poss.
