Even I can’t believe I’ve bought my AW17 winter coat (and boots!) in August, but as I’ve said a million times, I’m a firm believer in buying for the new season when you see. First it was these boots complete with silver buckle detail (more in my top edit here) – they’re the perfect partner to my new Gucci bag from Vestiare Collective and now it’s all about the coats. Well one coat/ jacket in particular, this aviator jacket from Topshop… it’s super soft, faux shearling & literally the cosiest thing in the world. I didn’t actually buy into this trend last year but this season it’s back & I’m all over it, big time. Like many I’ve been eyeing up the Acne one for years now, but I’m pretty confident the Topshop number is the next best thing. It’s a great price point (£79) and incredibly warm & I’m confident it’s going to be a sell out (it was fully stocked when I shared a sneak peek on insta yesterday!) I mean I’m not sure I even need the Acne one now, do I?!
So first up we’ve got the cosy coat memo, next a quick note on jeans; and that’s make them high wasted and straight down. I hate to say it but I’m not sure the skinny is going to see much air time this season, denims are sitting high on the waist and kicking out slightly at the ankle. Mom style, straight leg, 90s style – not a stretchy skinny in sight! Personally I find them really flattering & if you’re a little on the short side try them with a heeled boot to give that extra height.
