Today on WAT we’re pushing the boat out with something a bit different and going cray cray with a pop of colour & a frock! It’s not that we don’t like dresses and pops of colour it’s just that we don’t always lean towards the more out there pieces. There are however some exceptions, a time & a place when you want something a little different and let us tell you… when you find that piece it feels so good! So in full ‘dress appreciation mode,’ this post is dedicated to a new frock in our lives that we are seriously loving AND one of our favourite pieces from our new season edit in collaboration with Debenhams. Take a look at the full article here for some more must-haves like checked statement coats, amazing white blouses & a new pair of boyfriend jeans you need in your life.
But now; more on frock wearing…there are a few rules for us when it comes to dresses, first up, you won’t find us in a bandage mini or a gothic maxi and secondly it has to feel chic. The shape we’ve been leaning towards a lot recently is the midi, believe us when we say it’s flattering on every body shape and there are so many ways to wear that midi style. Philippa even loved the midi during her pregnancy as well! That mid calf feels just right – it’s not too girlie, not too twee & it’s also a great way to introduce a little print into your wardrobe. We’re loving the dark based floral of this floaty style – it ticks all the right boxes for us with its black background, making it bold but with that minimal edge. Styling wise it’s all about boots and a bucket bag to toughen up the print but it would look just as good with a pointy flat and an oversized clutch for a more dressed down look.

(P.S. This was actually shot whilst Philippa was on maternity leave but stay tuned for some twinning action soon!)
