It’s no secret our style can be broken down to simple pieces that we can mix and match in different ways to wear time and time again. This is true of everything we buy ranging from jackets, to jeans even to accessories. If we can’t see more than three ways to wear an item it’s not worth buying. We hate the thought of buying something and wearing it once & we especially love those items that can be dressed up and down. It’s kind of our wardrobe motto! Plus it means you don’t have to think that much about getting dressed because everything kind of works with each other. This is especially important for us these days…with Philippa being Mum to one year old Alfie, her getting ready time is no longer what it was and Sarah who still works full time and is also 5 months pregnant, would prefer those precious hours in bed rather than worrying about what to wear! Even more so now we can confirm that a hard working wardrobe is good for our health!
So today’s post is all about that one spring coat that can literally take you anywhere. Say hello to our new La Redoute silky trench / duster, loose & lightweight it’s what our wardrobe really needs for the British ‘summer’ (we’ll use that word loosely!) We’ve styled up it up two ways (for bump & non bump) for casual weekend style as well as a dressed up look. Better yet it comes in two colour ways, scroll below to see how we’ve styled up our four looks with our new fave piece.
The casual look….that must-have frayed straight leg jean, a girl power logo tee and not forgetting those trainers. Laid back style at it’s finest with an eye for details. Frayed, straight jeans are definitely our silhouette of choice right now and always seem to give our casual pieces that finishing touch, just add a good logo tee and we’re as happy as can be!
Philippa’s wearing:
Trench | Tee | Jeans | Bag | Trainers
Sarah’s wearing:
Trench | Maternity tee | Maternity jeans | Trainers
Dressing up the trench calls for tailored trousers & classic black heels. Simple lines and basic pieces always so chic for us when it comes to workwear & it’s a look that will never fails to impress! We styled the trench with a dressier tee to keep it looking fresh and these tailored trousers complete with stripe detail (Sarah down the side & Philippa at the waist) that we are pretty confident will take us anywhere. Down below that perfect heel that’s high enough to mean business but not too high so we’re tottering!
