what’s in our make-up bag…THE UPDATE

what’s in our make-up bag…
THE UPDATE

We did a ‘what’s in our make-up bag’ post in the early days of WAT and although we’ve stayed loyal to some of our must-haves we’ve learnt a lot along the way. We’re certainly not beauty gurus but have tried and tested a lot of products and wanted to share with you some of our new found loves…

BASE
Laura Mercier – This is without doubt utterly life-changing. (We are aware that sounds dramatic) but it helps our makeup stay put all day, it literally does not budge!

FOUNDATION

RMK – colour 104 – We spoke about this in our last ‘what’s in our makeup bag’ post and we’ve stayed loyal! Nothing quite beats it’s texture, coverage and durability. We promise if you try it, you won’t be disappointed!

CONCEALER

Nars -ginger This was used on us on a shoot and we instantly loved the product. It’s got great coverage, it’s not too heavy and blends perfectly. We’ve never looked back!

POWDER
Mac Mineralise – medium The perfect light-weight powder that sets our foundation and helps take off the shine later on in the day. It’s not too thick and doesn’t give that cakey powdered look.

BRONZER

Tom Ford – terra As if the packaging wasn’t enough, this golden bronzer is out of this world. There’s not a hint of glitter and it gives the perfect golden glow.

BLUSHER
Charlotte Tilbury – ecstasy The only blusher where people continually ask ‘what’s on your cheeks?’ Watch the online tutorial on how to apply but we love the two two-in-one concept, it really works.

EYE BROW PENCIL

Bobbi Brown colour- rich brown – step one, brush those brows with the attached brow brush and step two, fill in those gaps. It is really long-lasting and easy to use.

LIQUID EYE LINER

Tom Ford – black – Whilst we still have a special place in our hearts for Rimmel’s thrifty ‘exaggerate eye liner’ we’ve got a lot of love for Tom Ford’s eye defining pen. It gives the sleekest line and is really easy to use. Better yet, it stays put all day.

EYE LINER
Delilah – brown long wear – This is our most recent addition to our makeup bag and we’re seriously impressed. In a rich brown colour it’s softer than black for the day, it’s creamy texture is easily blended and it stays put.

MASCARA
Max Factor-masterpiece black – We’ve still not found a better mascara than this high street hero. It’s been recommended by so many make-up artists and it does everything it says on the tin – lifts, curls and thickens in one.

EYE SHADOW
Charlotte Tilbury-dark pearl Sometimes we use this under our eyes instead of an eye liner or for a more night time look, we smudge it on our lids too. It comes in various colourways depending on your eye colour and it really makes your eyes pop. Plus we love the metallic effect it gives, perfect for summer.

LIP LINER

Charlotte Tilbury-pillow talk Find us someone that doesn’t love this liner? Use it all over the lips and then apply a gloss, or even use it just to shape the lips – it’s not called lip cheat for nothing!

LIPSTICK

Mac – posh tone – It is totally normal to own around 500 nude lipsticks that all look the same…But we promise you this one is the best we’ve found. It’s got a slight browny undertone so it’s not at all pinky, it looks like you’re wearing a lippie but not!
