what’s in our MAKE-UP BAGS

what’s in our
MAKE-UP BAGS
The nature of our day jobs gives us the opportunity to seek out insider beauty tips and products. We’re constantly rushing from studios to press-days, so an everlasting eye-liner and foundation is vital!
Here are our products we couldn’t live without:
Philippa’s make-up bag:
1- Oliver Bonas ‘P’ make-up bag

2- Topshop kohl eyeliner | I’ve been so pleasantly surprised with Topshop’s own brand make-up collection. In particular, I really like this kohl eye-liner – it goes on really nicely and has an intense colour that lasts for hours.

3- Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation | I’ve had so many problems finding the right foundation. My skin is naturally quite oily, so I was finding my foundation looked great when first applied, but throughout the day, I looked blotchy and tired. Well, until I tried this product. It took a while for me to invest (it’s not cheap) but I have to tell you, its worth every single penny! Its an oil free gel and gives an even coverage that lasts all day until I take it off!

4 – Billion Dollar Brow Universal Brow Pencil | This pencil is simply magical! With its name “Universal” it works with any skin tone and hair colour. I’m really not a fan of drawn on eyebrows, but this gives such a smooth and natural look.

5 –MaxFactor Masterpiece mascara | Everybody needs to know about this mascara! I’ve seen so many make-up artists on shoots use it, so I had to try it out… its amazing! It combs and defines and makes my eyelashes look so long. If I was on a desert island, this would be my must have item!

6 –Liz Earle blusher | I’ve only just started to use this, and I honestly don’t know what I did without it before! I thought I wouldn’t like a creamy blusher, but this product is amazing – it adds instant radiance and a healthy glow to my cheekbones.

7 – MAC fluid line & 210 eyeliner brush | I’ve tried out so many liquid eye-liners, but I have to say this is by far my favourite. I love how easy it is to apply. I use the thin brush to paint on the eye-liner and without fail, even after a day of rushing around, it does not budge!

8 – Eve Lom Mineral Powder Foundation | Eve Lom have just launched make-up products exclusively for Space NK. I highly recommend this mineral powder – it has such a soft texture and lasts the whole day without going blotchy. I’ve got mine in a slightly darker shade and use it like a bronzer.

9 – MAC Conditioning Balm | I’m always rushing around, in and out of air conditioned offices and outside on location shoots so I need a lip balm that conditions and also gives a nice natural pink shade. This product is perfect for this and doesn’t have a sticky texture!

Sarah’s make up bag:
1- Oliver Bonas ‘S’ make up bag

2 – Mac Kohl Eyeliner in Feline | I love this black eyeliner from Mac, it’s a heavy duty black and I wear it at the bottom of my lashes. With other branded eyeliners I have found they smudge easily and come off throughout the day but this stays sharp and doesn’t budge.

3 – Clarins lip gloss | Another newbie to my make up bag is this Clarins ‘Lip Perfector’. It plumps, glosses and shines in one without being gloopy or sticky. It’s a very neutral shade and as a friend told me, it looks like my lips – but better!

4 – L’Oreal Lash Architect Mascara | I still don’t think I’ve found the perfect mascara 🙁 This one came from a goody bag and I like the way it thickens my lashes and lengthens at the same time but I do find it sometimes goes a bit clumpy by the end of the day. I think I need to try Philippa’s! Update to follow!

5 – Estee Lauder concealer |With my 4am starts for the show I need a heavy duty concealer. This is a fairly new buy and I like it’s creamy texture and coverage, perfect for my tired eyes!

6 – Mac bronzer in medium deep | I read about this on a beauty blog and I was instantly converted. It’s not too orangey and gives my skin a real lift.

7 – Dior blush in rosy glow | Don’t be put off by the intense pink colour of this blush, it comes out much lighter and gives those just pinched cheeks. It’s another gem from a make up artist friend and better still, it lasts all day.

8 – Rimmel Eye Liner | After trying a bunch of liquid eyeliners, I discovered this cheap as chips one from Rimmel, just £5.29 and nothing has ever compared! The felt tip pen makes it really easily to apply and it gives the perfect feline flick that my eyes feel naked without.

9 – RMK creamy foundation | This is my secret weapon and I can’t go a day without out it. A model friend of mine told me about it as her skin always looked flawless and this foundation is without doubt the best I’ve ever tried. It gives great coverage, is easily to apply and lasts all day.

10 – Liz Earle powder | I really like this loose powder by Liz Earle, I use it to set my foundation and also to take the sheen off during the day. This pot literally lasts forever.
